So last year when I turned 29 I kind of freaked out - it was the start of my 30th year on this planet. See in my mind, my 29th birthday was the completion of my 29th year living. You know, when you turn one, it's because you've completed one year of life.... It's not that I ever made plans that by 30 I'd be X'd, living in a lovely X with a white picket fence and a little X in the oven... but it was always the age where I thought those fuzzy life plans would at least be more baked (so to speak).
This month I turn 30 - and I have to say that the past year, my 30th year of living, wasn't that spectacular. I mean some really good things did happen ie; new apartment, new boyfriend... but I didn't exactly want to go out to the bars and shout "I'm 30!" from the rooftops. In fact the BIG 3-OH and a birthday that falls in the dead of winter to boot, I thought the best way to celebrate this "anniversary" would be on a tropical beach with a fruity drink (or several) in my hand.
And that's just what I did. With a fore mentioned new boyfriend I jet-set down to Cabo and sat on the beach for 3 glorious days! I also decided, inspired by this blog sans adora-freaking-able baby, that I would do a photo-a-day this year. Starting with my 30th birthday. (That really isn't for another week.) But my very merry un-birthday - was last weekend in Mexico and I'll start there....
*Check out my friend Jill's blog here! She's doing the photo-a-day project too!
