Well folks, it's been almost 4 months since my last post. I sincerely apologize! I could blame the holidays, or better yet! some horrific accident that left my fingers wrapped up in thick bandages leaving me unable to type. But the truth is I met someone.
*Groans* I know, I know. Seriously, I know. But it's true. There was one more guy & a couple dates in between, that I hadn't yet told you guys about, but then I went on a date with Jake. And I kind of think the rest is going to be history.
Trust me there's still a voice in my head telling me to slow-down, but at the risk of being completely cliche', sometimes you just know. Sometimes it just works. I think I felt, more-so than Jake did, that even our first emails were easy. He wanted to talk on the phone after a couple emails but I asked him if he'd just like to get a drink instead. I'm not saying I was not my normal nervous self that stuck her foot in her mouth several times, but meeting with Jake that first time was just easy and fun.
I was on Eharmony a couple years ago and although I don't think I was mentally ready to start dating again, I never went on even one date. I know compared to many, my small hand-full of first dates this past fall is very meager, but I also know that there are many women who still feel like they shouldn't be initiating the dates or even the first contact when online dating. I not only sent Jake the first questions but like I just mentioned, I also asked him out that first time. First dates are painful - but after-all you can't go swimming without getting wet.
